MORE than 1,000 people ran their way into a charity’s history books during the Moor Park 10k on Sunday.

The record turn-out included 962 runners in the main race, which started at Merchant Taylors School, Sandy Lodge, and 479 youngsters who took part in fun-runs on the school’s playing fields.

The event raised money for the Lynda Jackson Macmillan Centre (LJMC), at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Rickmansworth Road, Northwood, which offers support to people suffering from cancer.

The charity hopes it will beat last year’s total of £53,000 thanks to this year's record entry.
