THE CONSERVATIVE party had a run away victory amongst voters in Kensington and Chelsea.

Among the 26,817 borough votes cast in last week's European election, 12,940 went to the Tories.

The Labour party received 3,181 votes and the Liberal Democrats 3,106.

UKIP attracted 2,227 votes, the British National Party got 583 and the Green Party won 2,774.

Conservative councillor Warwick Lightfoot lost out on a place in the European Parliament, after being place 5th on the Conservative list.

The new elected European members for London are: Conservatives Charles Tannock, Syed Kamall and Marina Yannakoudakis; Labour's Claude Moraes and Mary Honeyball; Liberal Democrat Sarah Ludford; Green Party representative Jean Lambert; UK Independence Party's Gerard Batten.
