I'M WRITING to let your readers know that there are still some places available to run for Asthma UK at the first Royal Parks Foundation Half-Marathon in London on October 12, 2008.

This promises to be an exciting new running festival in Britain's sporting and charity calendars - one that will rival the Great North Run and the London Marathon.

The race will follow an iconic route through central London's royal parks; Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, Green Park and St James's Park and along the River Thames, taking in superb views of London landmarks such as Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, and the London Eye.

The race day will appeal to everyone, runners and spectators alike, with over 30,000 people expected to attend and a festival atmosphere with music, food, activities and world record attempts on the day.

I have asthma myself, proof that it doesn't need to stop your readers fulfilling their potential.

As long as their asthma is wellmanaged and they carry their blue reliever inhaler with them when they run, they too can take part.

Money raised will go towards Asthma UK's lifesaving research, improving the lives of the 5.2million people in the UK with asthma.
