Ruislip’s MP officially cut the ribbon on the high street’s new post office.

Nick Hurd , MP for Ruislip , Northwood and Pinner , officially opened Ruislip Post Office on Monday.

Mr Hurd, who recently became a father for the sixth time , said: “It’s great to be here to formally open the new post office. It plays a vital role in the community, for residents, small businesses and the self-employed.

“I’m sure everyone will welcome the new-look branch and longer opening hours, especially Sundays.”

The post office moved from a former space at 48 High Street into its new position at number 68, which used to be a Sony shop.

It’s services will be available from 8.30am to 6.30pm Monday to Saturday and 9am until 2pm on Sunday, giving customers an extra 14 hours each week.

Postmaster, Pritesh Patel, said: “I hope our customers like their new post office and I’d like to thank the local community for their continued support and use of the branch.

“The open-plan counter makes it easier for customers and staff to talk and the extra opening hours make it more convenient as people now have more choice of when to visit.”
