Ruislip man loses death by dangerous driving appeal

THE parents of a teenager killed by the dangerous driving of Ruislip's Alex Jaggs have welcomed the news that his appeal has been dismissed.

AN APPEAL against the five-year jail term given to a young Ruislip man for killing his friend in a car crash has been dismissed.

Alex Jaggs, 20, of Eastcote Road, was jailed for causing the death of Pinner teenager Jack King in May 2010, after his car collided with a tree in Elm Avenue, Eastcote,

In February this year, Jaggs admitted causing death by dangerous driving and was jailed and banned from driving for five years by a judge who said he had been showing off behind the wheel of his FOrd Fiesta Zetec.

But Jaggs challenged the verdict and appeared at the Court of Appeal on Friday, October 14. The appeal was thrown out and the original decision upheld.

After the hearing, Michelle King (pictured), mother of former Northwood School pupil Jack, told the Gazette: "They said it was an appalling and tragic situation and they wouldn't take a single day off the prison sentence. Justice has prevailed."
