A DRAGONS’ Den star has chosen a young entrepreneur as one of six from across the country to be in the running to receive an impressive business accolade.

Michael Pocock, 22, from Ruislip, is one of six finalists from across England with the chance of winning the National Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy.

The academy was founded by entrepreneur and Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones, who headed a judging panel which included figures from the worlds of business and education.

Mr Pocock was tasked with a real-life Dragons’ Den experience when he pitched his business ideas to Mr Jones, who heard about the young entrepreneur’s business plan for What City, What Party?, an online advertising platform for the nightclub and evening entertainment industry.

The business enterprise student at Bournemouth and Poole College said: “The past year at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy has been one of the greatest experiences of my life and to get this far has been incredible.

“I’m now ready for my business to launch and I can’t wait to take the next step on my journey.”

Mr Pocock will find out if he has won the award at the Peter Jones Enterprise Academy graduation ceremony at Freemasons Hall, London, on July 9.
