A spokesman for the company revealed that it was 'simply wasn't viable' to keep the shop open because of financial losses. He said the remaining shops were doing well and there are no plans to close any others.

The shop in Ruislip High Street is to cease trading on Sunday, less than a year after opening.

Tonight (Friday) will be the last of its regular open mic music sessions.

When the Ruislip shop opened in October last year, company owners Nick, Andrew and Laura Tolley promised 'unique barista made coffee' in an 'exciting new artisan coffee venture'.

Sceptics of the chain questioned the integrity of those claims when it was revealed that supermarket giant Tesco owned a 49 per cent share of the company.

Eleven staff members who were recruited to the store will keep their jobs but be transferred to other shops which are spread around London and the south-east, including an Uxbridge shop in the High Street.
