Rubbish will not be collected in Feltham and Chiswick until next week due to a two-day strike beginning today, Hounslow Council has confirmed.
However, the industrial action - set to disrupt councils across the country - will not affect recycling collections.
The infants department at Orchard Infant & Nursery School in Orchard Road, Hounslow, will be closed throughout both days.
Feltham Hill Junior School will close from 12.15pm on both days, Feltham Hill Infant & Nursery School' nursery will close on both days, Andrew Ewing will have no nursery or reception classes and Brentford School for Girls will close both days.
A council spokesman said some other services were likely to be affected but it was hoping to keep disruptions to a minimum.
Members of unions Unison and Unite are on strike for two daysafter rejecting a national 2.45 per cent pay officer.
