A ROYAL family fanatic is offering a bed and breakfast experience fit for a Queen at her home, where she has more than 10,000 patriotic items.

Guests of Margaret Tyler, who lives in The Fairway, South Kenton, will sleep in a room festooned with memorabilia, from pictures, mugs and plates, to teddies and cushions.

The overnight rate is £75 but for a truly authentic experience, a corgi can be rented for an extra fee.

Mrs Tyler, 68, said: “It is ideal, particularly with the jubilee coming up. People can stay and then go out and about in London and really enjoy the experience.”

The mother-of-four has been amassing items inspired by British monarchy since her children started moving out of the family home. Four rooms are dedicated to the collection, one of which is called the Diana Room, a special celebration of the late princess’ life.

The extensive collection includes items relating to Queen Victoria and the rarest piece is a bust of Prince Charles, made from basalt, one of only 25 made at the time.

Mrs Tyler said: “I have been interested in the royal family since I was a little girl, but it really started to take off when Diana came on to the scene.

“My children always bring me things to add to my collection and people buy things for me on birthdays and at Christmas. It’s really nice, and just something I enjoy.

“As my children have moved out there has been more and more room to expand it all. It’s only difficult when they come back for dinner – we have to get takeaway because there’s so little space.”

Mrs Tyler, who has previously worked in an hotel, said she is looking forward to her new business venture and said fellow royalists will have a lot in common with her.

The room can be booked through www.wimdu.co.uk and is listed as Her Majesty’s Sleepover.
