Parking restrictions around the hospital in which Kate Middleton will give birth to her second child have been put in place as preparations for the imminent arrival of the royal baby go into overdrive.

The restrictions have been introduced around the Lindo Wing as it prepares to welcome the world’s media to its doorstep.

The Duchesses of Cambridge is due to give birth towards the end of this month and will once again return to the Lindo Wing, the private maternity department of St Mary’s Hospital, in Paddington, also the birthplace of first child Prince George.

Prince George is due to have a baby brother or sister

However, to avoid the long wait that happened before his birth in July 2013, no one will be allowed to take their positions until she has been admitted to the wards.

Parking restrictions are the first step of the preparations and, later this week, positions for photographers, reporters and camera crews will be marked out ahead of the baby’s due date around the weekend of April 25 and 26.

The baby will be fourth in line to the throne, demoting Uncle Harry to fifth place.

Prince George remains at three, his father William is second and Prince Charles remains heir apparent and next in line to the throne.
