Rotarians from the Heston and Isleworth club enjoyed a sunny day out and raised a small pot of funds at the Norwood Green fete last weekend.

Among the bric-a-brac at the charity stall were porcelain ornaments, glassware, and books which helped raised £80, last Saturday (12).

Rotary club members Dominic Cocozza, Jeff O’ Leary (president) and Fred Fox who were minding the stall also helped run the Toy Library stall where donations reached £180, and at the miniature railway stand.

Mr Cocozza, club treasurer, said: "It was a lovely day and the weather was kind to us.

"We spent the day selling second hand porcelain ornaments, glassware, crockery, books and all sorts of similar articles.

"Fred Fox was the star of the show, attracting people to the stand then cajoling them into parting with some money.

"During the day, we also helped to run the miniature railway, and our president Jeff O’ Leary helped out on the Toy Library stand next to us."

Despite dwindling numbers in attendance the money raised will go towards a worthy cause.

Last month the rotary club put £1,200 towards taking disabled children to Chessington World of Adventures and donated another £750 to the Hounslow Toy Library.
