A robber swiped a cash box from a security guard, pouncing after first demanding cash inside a Shepherd's Bush bank.

The Group 4 employee was tackled and slammed against a wall outside Barclays Bank, in Scrubs Lane, on the border of Shepherd's Bush.

The criminal, who was thought to be with about five others, then made off at about 3pm yesterday.

Jennifer, an account manager at Long island Jewellery next door said: "I heard a scuffle outside, then a bang against the wall and a yell and then the cops turned up.

At first I thought the scuffling was just an amorous couple or something, I didn't think it was anything like this."
