TV and comedy legends appeared at a special gala dinner to raise money for Harefield Hospital and help it celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The special evening was held at glitzy LSO (London Symphony Orchestra) St Luke’s in London.
The evening was hosted by Clive Anderson and included Blackadder stars Rowan Atkinson and Tim McInnerny, as well as the show’s writer Richard Curtis, who also penned The Vicar of Dibley, Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
Also present on the evening were comedians including Rob Brydon, Angus Deayton and Robin Ince, New York based singer Anna Bergman, poet and former Harefield heart transplant patient Lord Grey Gowrie, and Will Pope, the young lad who had a heart transplant at the hospital two years ago.
The evening was billed as an event where art and science meet. Also on stage on the night was the Hill End Road, Hilingdon hospital’s director of heart and lung transplantation director, Andre Simon.
Money raised from the gala will be spent on purchasing Organ Care Systems, which keep recently donated hearts and lungs warm and pulsating during transportation.
The event took place on February 10 and is one of several events taking place this year to celebrate Harefield Hospital’s centenary.
