A street in Feltham has been incorrectly marked Hanworth Park in a blunder by Hounslow Highways.

The former Spring Road sign correctly displayed the area as Feltham whereas the replaced board reads Hanworth Park under the street name.

The Highways team have apologised profusely for the error and said a new sign with the correct area would be installed as a matter of urgency.

Rob Gillespie, Hounslow Highways Service Director, said: “This sign was mistakenly labelled. We apologise for this and a new, correct sign will be replaced as a matter of urgency.”

Since October last year, Hounslow Highways have been upgrading road signs across the borough. So far, more then 7,000 have been manufactured and more then 1,500 installed. By November this year, the company which is responsible for improvement of roads and footpaths in Hounslow, among other things, hopes to have seen to 22,000 signs and replaces in excess of 10,000.
