The latest plans for a giant new development on the river at Hammersmith are due to go on show at a public exhibition next week.

New images, a model and details of Fulham Reach, a 750-home scheme on the vacant Hammersmith Embankment site, will be displayed over two days at the nearby Distillery Lane Centre.

Developer St George hopes to build a mixed use scheme on the seven acre brownfield site, with a new square, restaurants, facilities and a boat club and pontoon, and has already submitted a planning application to Hammersmith and Fulham Council which will be decided later this year.

The land has also been earmarked by Thames Water as one of the major construction sites for its planned Thames Tunnel project, a major expansion of London's sewer system, which is likely to take around seven years to build.

St George says it is working closely with the water company to find a solution, with the construction of Fulham Reach and the 'super sewer' set to run simultaneously if necessary.

Nick Hutchings, managing director of St George Central London, said: "Fulham Reach is a key site in a prime riverside setting. We have worked closely with the local community and the local authority to masterplan a high quality residential led development, in keeping with the surrounding area, providing homes and jobs. We are connecting the Thames and the town centre and ensuring that the riverside becomes open and accessible to all."

The developer expects around 350 jobs to be created by the project.

The exhibition is at the Distillery Lane Centre in Distillery Lane, Hammersmith, from midday till 5pm next Friday (11) and from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, March 12.
