Fears are growing for a Hounslow man who was reported missing by Durham University last night.

Divers are searching the River Wear in the North East of England for 19-year-old student Luke Pearce who disappeared after a night out.

He was drinking with friends on Saturday and last seen at 1:30am walking along the river bank towards the Maiden Castle area.

Mr Pearce is 6ft 2in tall with short ginger hair. He was wearing a blue polo shirt, blue jeans and white trainers.

River searches are being conducted by Weardale and Teesdale Search and Rescue with assistance from the fire brigade.

Chief Insp Andy Huddleston told the BBC: "We are very concerned for Luke as this is completely out of character and there has been no trace of him since the early hours of Sunday morning."

Police said Luke has not responded to any attempts to contact him and his phone has not been traced.
