THE conviction of Hounslow youth Darrell Desuze for causing the death of a pensioner during last summer's Ealing riots was unsurprisingly one of the week's most read stories.

But the actual top spot was captured by coverage of a suspected stolen car which ploughed through a bus stop and into the shopfront of Link Estates, in London Road, Isleworth.

Another leading story was the unlikely tale of former Arsenal star Paul Merson  agreeing to come out of retirement to play a game for Whitton Athletic. He was talked into playing while visiting a Whitton pub, but could only hit the bar.

A concerning report about an attempted rape  near Hounslow Central Station clocked up hits, as did our interview with the head of Isleworth & Syon School who expressed shock at the conviction of former pupil Darrell Desuze.

Meanwhile a 15-year-old Brentford fan was left with a badly cut eye in an altercation with Sheffield fans, and a dangerous knife man was jailed for a stabbing attack on a pal.
