CELEBRITY comedian and supporter of The Mayhew Animal Home, Ricky Gervais, has joined its public appeal for help because the rescue centre is inundated with and cats and kittens.

Over the last couple of weeks little felines have been left on the street outside the home, found on the back of buses and taped up in cardboard boxes.

At the moment the animal sanctuary in Kensal Green is trying to foster home more than 40 kittens.

Ricky Gervais is urging people to be aware of the 'kitten crisis' and is appealing for people to rescue a helpless felines. He said: "Too many cats are having unwanted babies that are arriving on the doorsteps of rescue centres which have limited space. These tiny little things have barely a chance in life so if you can take in any of these orphan felines and care for them while The Mayhew finds them a home, please get in
