HUNDREDS of revellers turned out for Orchard Road Primary School's first summer fete on Saturday.

Visitors to the school, in Orchard Road, Hounslow - formed last September when the infant and junior schools merged - enjoyed music, dance and food from around the world.

Crowds were treated to dhol and tabla drumming, plus traditional dancing by former pupils who are now at The Heathland School.

There were also performances from the school's hip hop and cheerleading teams, karate displays, face painting and a baby competition.

Teacher Sharon Haldane said the event raised £3,400 for the school and parents would be asked how they wanted the money to be spent.
