Childhood sweethearts from Acton who lost touch more than four decades ago visited their high school for the first time as a married couple.

Kevin and Andrea Keefe spent Valentine's Day taking a trip down memory lane at their former school, Twyford Church of England in Acton.

The couple first met in 1960 where they fell in love, before Mr Keefe joined The Royal Marines and they were advised to go their separate ways.

They both married their partners and had children, but spent more than 40 years searching for each other before striking gold on the Friends Reunited site.

After months of flying back and forth from Denmark where Mr Keefe worked, they finally met in November 2007 and were married exactly a year later, 44 years after losing touch.

Psychoanalyst, Mrs Keefe, said: "Going back to the school was very special for us. We weren't great fans of school but fans of eachother.

"I remember telling the girl who sat next to me that one day I would marry Kevin.

"It really brings me to tears as we just knew we would be together and all our hopes and dreams have come true.

"We really should never have been parted but we're both great believers of fate and won't be wasting a second."

Mr Keefe who works in corporate sales, has a son who lives with his wife and two grandsons in Denmark.

Mrs Keefe, 60, has three children and five grandchildren.
