ACCORDING to a new report the thoughtless, selfish and uncaring drivers who repeatedly flaunt parking restrictions can look forward to a new three strikes and you are out rule.
Councils look set to be given powers to clamp and even remove the vehicles of cretins who seem to be incapable of parking more than a few roads away from where they want to be and instead are happy to cause gridlock rather than walk a few yards futher. These are no doubt the kind of people who seem unbothered by parking tickets and written warnings, and instead continue their pig-headed practice of leaving cars strewn anywhere they feel like.
I fully welcome this new scheme and hope Hillingdon Council is planning to put its new powers to full use in the power struggle to save us decent, concerned residents from the army of the bloody minded.
My road recently became a residents only zone and to say the difference has been amazing is a total understatement.
Where once I would have to circle the block searching in vain for a space vaguely in the region of my front door I now return home each day knowing my space is waiting for me.
