A DISPUTE over a planning issue has resulted in Dormers Wells Residents Association throwing down the gauntlet to Ealing Council.

The association is giving the council 15 working days to respond to a letter regarding a property in Dormers Wells Lane, or it will go to the local government ombudsman.

George Twyman, chairman of the association, said he has already sent two letters to the council last year over the property, which was the subject of planning investigations.

Mr Twyman said he does not believe the property currently has a completion certificate, the final document needed to allow people to legitimately occupy the site.

He said: “I feel like we are being ignored. I sent letters to the council over this issue in October and November of last year and I have heard nothing from them so far.

“I sent this latest letter last week. If I do not hear back from the council within 15 working days then I will have no choice but to take the matter further and complain to the local government ombudsman.”

A spokeswoman for Ealing Council said: “We will always take urgent action if there is a concern about safety.

“In this case there were previous planning investigations, but numerous site visits have shown the owner has complied with all enforcement notices and there are no concerns about the building’s safety.

“Following several phone calls with Mr Twyman he is well aware of the situation, but we will write to him again to confirm the result of the investigation.”
