HUNDREDS of people descended on the Bunny Park on Sunday afternoon to enjoy the sunshine and take part in the Sainsbury's Sport Relief Mile.

Fundraisers could chose between running or walking a leisurely one mile or, for the more competitive, there were three and six mile laps around Brent Lodge Animal Park in Church Road, Hanwell.

One group of colleagues (pictured) led by Mark Harfield, branch manager at Barclays bank in Southall, raised more than £1,000 for the cause which tackles poverty in the UK and abroad.

He said: "Including family members there were about 20 of us who took part. The youngest little Jasmine was very relaxed about the whole thing. Some ran, some walked but we all got around in one piece, with no injuries and everyone was in work on Monday."

Gazette reporter Poppy Bradbury donned her short shorts to run three miles along The Mall up to Buckingham Palace with colleagues on our sister papers in Hounslow, Fulham and Harrow. The group of seven raised almost £300.
