A 70-YEAR-OLD man, who has strived to help his community for 14 years, has been nominated for a community champion award.
Livingston St Louis, a father of three children and three grandchildren, has been vice chairman of the Acton Vale Tenants and Residents' Association for nine years and chairman for about five.
He was nominated by Rachel Pepper, from Acton Community Forum, who said: "Livingston serves the Acton Vale Community tirelessly and is also a member of the Acton Vale Community Association constantly striving for better services. He also supports the positive development of the Vale Community Centre."
Livingston, from Acton, said: "People do complain to me about all sorts of things, from housing to problems with windows to parking. The council does put things off so it's a lot of hard work and pressure on me.
"I am trying to get some new things going at the community centre like coffee mornings for the elderly as most of them aren't willing to go out at night. It would stop them feeling so isolated. It was nice to be nominated. I just believe in helping people."
