Children who died during pregnancy or soon after birth will be remembered during a ceremony at West Middlesex Hospital next weekend.

The hospital's maternity department is holding its annual service of remembrance next Sunday (October 12) at 3pm.

Anyone mourning the loss of a baby or young child is welcome to pay their respects during the ceremony at the Multi-Faith Centre in the atrium of the hospital in Twickenham Road, Isleworth.

Sally Kelly, the hospital's bereavement midwife, said: "Acknowledgement of the death of a baby, regardless of when the loss occurred, is very important.

"This service offers a formal recognition of those babies and brings grieving parents, families and hospital staff together to offer comfort and support.

"Feedback from previous years has always been very positive and parents report that it has helped them in their journey. Some families attend the service year after year."
