Remembrance ceremonies will take place on Sunday and Monday across the Harrow borough.

The Mayor, Councillor Nana Asante, recently laid wreaths at the borough’s war memorials and the grave of Captain William Leefe Robinson in All Saints’ Church, Uxbridge Road, Harrow Weald.

She said: “As First Citizen of the Borough, I urge all residents to support the 2013 Poppy Appeal in whatever way you can to enable the Legion to meet the ever increasing needs of the active and ex-service community. Wear your poppy with pride and give generously to this outstanding cause.”
