STAFF, relatives and dignitaries attended the opening of a newly refurbished wing of a care home.

Lord Popat was among guests at the opening of the dementia ward of Coplands Nursing Home in Copland Avenue, Wembley.

The ward has taken six months to refurbish and will cater for dementia patients and young disabled people.

More than 100 people work at the nursing home which cares for 76 patients in total, including 16 in the new wing.
