I HAVE been observing how the streets, pavements and bus stops are becoming increasingly strewn with litter and other obnoxious stains.

Over the past 12 to 18 months, there has been a degradation of a decent quality of life in Harrow and Kenton and I would imagine other parts of the neighbouring areas are in a similar predicament.

I have tried repeatedly to send e-mails to the Council and made numerous phone-calls but, alas, to no avail, as the Council seems unable or unwilling to deal with the problem.

One of the most despicable habits is of red spit marks that now appear on pavements and our streets, making everyday activity like walking to the bus stop to go to work unbearable.

It is clear that this is caused by people from the Indian sub-continent that have brought their uncouth habits with them when they should have left them behind in search of a better life!

I do not what there is I can do to exert any more pressure on the council.

I have spoken to the local ward councillor who appears oblivious to the problem or simply cannot understand the detrimental impact this has on the local community in terms of quality and general depreciation.

I feel so strongly that I believe a campaign should to be instigated to impose a 'on the spit' fine and I just wonder how people actually think this is a huge problem or am I being paranoid?
