PUPILS at Ravenor Primary have committed themselves to caring for the environment.
Eight nominated WWF Green Ambassadors will hold responsibility for training monitors on assessments and mechanisms for reducing omission and quality control.
Peers, parents and teachers attended the launch of this new scheme at the Greenford school on Friday March 1.
In the past monitors have worked to reduce gas and electricity use by as much as 50 percent. The new programme extends out from school to children’s homes and the community.
They aim to lower energy bills, reduce wasted energy and work towards developing a school garden.
Pupil voice coordinator Miss Talbot said: "This is the first year we have joined the WWF scheme and we can’t wait to see the results. Being a Green Ambassador is a very important job and by working well as a team we can make a huge difference to our school."
