A former rapper who worked with murdered hip hop legend Tupac Shakur is working to help Hounslow youngsters turn their backs on gangs.

Mutah Beale, who witnessed the devastating impact of gun and knife crime during his time in America, was among the guests at  youth crime forum at Montague Hall in Montague Road, Hounslow.

He was joined by Barrington Foster, who has devoted his life to stopping youth violence after being jailed himself, and Mike Jervis, a former gang member from east London.

The trio discussed their own experiences before taking questions from the audience at the free event, last Thursday, which was jointly organised by Hounslow Police, Hounslow Council and youth charity Helping Young People Evolve (HYPE).
