Meteorologists at RAF Northolt say this month could be a soggy record breaker

In January so far (to 3.25pm on Monday) it had recorded 45.6mm of rainfall.

The 30 year monthly average for the whole of January is 58.2mm – so around three-quarters of the average monthly rainfall has come down in just six days.

In December, the RAF station in West End Road, Ruislip recorded just over 100mm of rainfall. The 30 year monthly average is 59mm.
