SHE may be new to TV notoriety, but Rachel Agnew is fitting right in among the regulars on ITV’s Loose Women.

Rachel, who lives in Ealing Common, was one of 3,000 hopefuls to enter the Make Me a Loose Woman competition and was stunned to receive a call while in Marrakesh telling her she was to join the raucous allfemale panel of presenters.

The 44-year-old former comedian, said she has just the right amount of experience and confidence to join the topical chat show.

Mrs Agnew said: “As a comedian, being gobby comes naturally to me and I’m not shy of talking about quite personal things. I’m a single mother in my 40s and am out there on the prowl again and can share a few amusing stories of dating and working out the next stages of my life.

“It helps being opinionated and not backward in coming forward with your opinions and I’m happy to go against the tide. I think I share aspects of all the presenters; I’m a single mum but I’m a bit of a party girl like Carol and Denise but there’s also the home-bird in me like Coleen and Andrea.

“Like all of them, I’d like to get some handsome men on the show such as Brad Pitt or George Clooney but I think there would be a fight to do the interview.”

Mrs Agnew who has an eight-year-old daughter and works in marketing and consultancy, said she was very nervous on her first day in the studio but said it felt like coming into a coffee morning and she quickly forgot about the half dozen cameras.

She said: “I didn’t know how the presenters would be with me but, I can say without hesitation, they were all welcoming and charming. “I’ve worn a necklace I was wearing when I got the call in Marrakesh a couple of times on air as it seems appropriate.”

Mrs Agnew who has lived in Ealing for 14 years, said she has been recognised a couple of times in the street and her friends and family are delighted with her new opportunity in television.

Rachel first appeared on the show in July 8 and her prize was for five appearances which lasted until the end of the series in August.

Since the show returned in October she has been given a professional contract by ITV and appeared twice more, with a further three appearances scheduled before the end of the year.
