A care worker who suffered from mental health problems died after leaping in front of a tube, a court heard.

Lukaz Wrona, 29, of Clare Road, went missing from his home in the month leading up to his death at Queensway tube station.

Westminster Coroner's Court heard horrified onlookers saw him walk up the platform, before leaping into the path of an oncoming tube on July 12.

Tube driver Arthur Copperwaite initially thought Mr Wrona was pretending to jump, but added: "Then he put his arms out in front of him, like he was diving, and jumped in front of the train."

A post mortem report found Mr Wrona had not been drinking alcohol or taking drugs before he died.Coroner Dr Paul Knapman recorded a verdict of suicide on August 17.
