These rules were agreed by the Government to protect the quality of life of every EU citizen. But now it seems providing thousands more planes over London is more important.

But not so long ago the Conservatives supported expansion of Heathrow. Will the Mayor now overcome his party's anti-Europeanism to trump the third runway battle?
Liberal Democrats have consistentlyopposed expanding Heathrow. We will use every weapon in the armoury, including taking the fight to Brussels, to battle for quality of life for Londoners and against climate change.
They are simply too important to give up.
