I WAS saddened to see that three more shops have closed up around the Woolworths end of the high street, including amazingly, the one-and-only recruitment company in the town!
Surely in these economic times with the ever-increasing levels of unemployment, this recruitment agency was vital for jobseekers?
What is the council doing to try and re-invigorate Twickenham High Street? We read regularly about Whitton town centre manager's plans to try and re-energise Whitton.
We read about the council wasting time trying to close down, successful established businesses such as Arthur's Café, when there are more than enough empty properties elsewhere where they could site the café they are proposing to replace Arthur's with.
Twickenham High Street is in danger of becoming a ghost town. Count the number of empty properties next time you walk from end to end.
