Budding gymnasts engaged in forward rolls and cartwheels during a training day with a reality TV star.

Pupils of all ages at St John’s Primary School in Felix Road, West Ealing, took part in floor work with Christopher Rogers from Spellbound, a gymnastics group who won Britain’s Got Talent in 2010.

The professional, who with his partner won a silver medal in last year’s Gymnastics World Cup, showed the school a short video on what he has accomplished and the work he has done.

Physical education co-ordinator Peter Briley said: “The kids were amazing; the things they could do after being with him for half an hour.

“Children who could not do a forward roll at the start of the session could do so by the end. It was amazing the impact he had.

“Christopher also talked about a healthy eating lifestyle and how important it was to do regular exercise and have a good diet.

“They were very excited, enthusiastic, inspired and did not want the day to finish.”

St John’s were contacted by Spellbound who visit primary schools to raise interest in gymnastics.
