Students are working towards the next stage in a national Government initiative which introduces environmental topics into the curriculum.

Pupils at Perivale Primary School in Federal Road have been busy working towards their Eco-Schools Green Flag Award, after getting the bronze and silver over the last year.

Eco-Schools is an international award programme that guides schools on a sustainable journey, providing a framework to help embed environmental principles into the heart of school life.

Children have designed an eco-bag for parents and community members to buy which will be going on sale in December, as well as taking an active role in recycling, litter picking and saving energy.

The school’s main focus in upcoming months will be improving their school grounds, with each class responsible for a particular planting area.
