BROTHERS Tyler and Jaego Young had a taste of life in the force when they went on a special trip to Kingston Police Station.

Staff organised a tour of the station for the St Paul's School pupils, who both want to be police officers when they grow up.

Their mum Trudy, 39, said: "I was a victim of domestic violence so the boys have grown up seeing a lot of police officers. But rather than turning them against them it's made them, especially Tyler, actually want to be policemen themselves.

"I used the domestic violence One Stop Shop and they really helped me – I don't know where I'd be without them. They knew the boys were interested in the police so they arranged for us to go down just after Tyler's ninth birthday.

"I didn't tell them until we were about to leave to go there and they were so excited they could hardly breath! They loved it – they sat in a patrol car, went in the control room. It was a really great trip for them and I can't thank the staff enough."
