SCHOOLS across Hillingdon are closing their doors due to the snow and parents are being told not to bring their children back until Wednesday.

In light of the mounting chaos caused by the winter snap the decision has been made to close all schools in the borough tomorrow.

While the majority had already failed to open this morning Breakspear Junior, Coteford Junior, Ladybanks and St Bernadettes had managed to carry on as normal.

However, they will join all other education centres in remaining closed tomorrow which includes the three Early Years Centres at Uxbridge, Nestles Avenue and South Ruislip.

Hillingdon Council is publishing regular service updates on its website www.hillingdon.gov.uk which includes information on transport facilities and the library network.

Gritting vehicles were sent out yesterday between 2-6pm and 8pm-midnight to prepare priority roads for the morning. They were out again at 4am today and from 7am street cleaners were deployed to clear footpaths at shops, hospitals, stations, schools and nursing homes.
