ARTISTIC residents are being asked to play their part in brightening up Acton.

As part of the £500,000 town centre improvement scheme, backed by the Mayor of London’s Outer London fund and Ealing Council, Acton Community Forum is working with local residents and community groups to get involved in the Love Acton campaign.

The forum is looking for a wide range of designs, some of which will be on banners and flags which will adorn Acton, which can include painting, print, photography, graphics or poems.

A series of workshops are being held across Acton to help people who would like to digitalise images or you can simply submit your own. The best will be chosen following on-line voting and an exhibition will be held showing some of the designs later in the year.

Rachel Pepper, from the forum, said: "We are looking for designs that are rooted in Acton - the historical and contemporary, the people and places, the character and spirit. We are already running workshops to help people and you can find out when and where they are on our website. This is a very exciting project and we hope lots of people, of all ages, will want to get invovled."
