A GIANT Buckaroo set created by zany regulars at a Surbiton pub is setting off on a UK festivals tour to raise money for charity.

The horse-size game is the brainchild of punters at the Lamb pub, in Brighton Road, collectively known as Homage de Fromage.

They are the same team behind a range of other madcap stunts including a lifesize version of the game Mousetrap and suburban skiing, in which competitors compete with blocks of ice strapped to their feet.

The club, dedicated to 'cheese and cheese-based art', has already raised more than £30,000 for Kingston charity the International Youth Arts Festival and Hampton's Shooting Star Children's Hospice in the last year.

Their version of Buckaroo will be entertaining festival-goers at the Secret Garden Party, Camp Bestival, Green Man and Bestival on the Isle of Wight in coming weeks.

Club president Robin Hutchinson said, "We are delighted that Buckaroo has got legs and that his fundraising will carry on running through the summer at some of the most beautiful festivals the country has to offer."

Kim Darton, Shooting Star's director of fundraising, said: "The Homage de Fromage club is a rare group with crazy ideas and a little bit of genius. In one year we have seen a giant Mousetrap and Buckaroo, kite-surfing British cheese to France and of course Surbiton Ski Sunday.

"We look on in wonder at the things they get up to for so many good causes. Seething (a mythical village dreamt up by the club) and Surbiton should be very proud."
