A pub could be shut down over a catalogue of 'serious disorder' that includes evidence of bare-knuckle fist fights, after-hours lock-ins and staff serving booze to heavily drunk customers.

Harrow Council has been asked to revoke the licence of the Lough Inn, Warwick Parade, Belmont Circle, by Sergeant Carl Davis, Harrow Police's licensing officer.

The council's licensing sub-committee will decide whether to do so at a special hearing on Monday August 4 at 7pm at Harrow Civic Centre.

In his written submission, Sgt Davis said: "It is apparent that those in management and control of the premises have a flagrant disregard for the law and that this mismanagement has led to serious crime and disorder, public nuisance and the loss of the public of their safety."

The evidence offered includes:

Men jumping onto cars and fighting outside the pub

Battling males spilling out of a 50th birthday party

Selling drinks to heavily drunk patrons

Bare-knuckle alley fight and a mass brawl

Late-night birthday party held without permission

Abusive shouting and swearing among customers

Landlord unfit to control the pub through drink

Breaches of the smoking ban

Illegal after-hours drink sales

Male drinker knocking a woman to the floor and assaulting her

Sgt Davis summarised: "Three of the licensing objectives relating to this premises have recently been completely undermined on a regular basis, leading to drunkenness and violence. Police request that the licence is revoked."

A member of staff at the freehouse told the Harrow Observer: "We don't wish to make a comment at the moment. We will be afforded the opportunity at the council hearing."
