A MAN was sent to prison for beating up a man after a disagreement in a pub.

Edward Egan, 30, of High Road, Wembley, was sentenced to seven-and-a-half years at Harrow Crown Court on Friday last week for grievous bodily harm.

The court heard that a 48-year-old man was at The Torch pub, in Bridge Road, Wembley, playing pool on April 7 when two men he was with got into an argument with Egan.

The victim tried to intervene and was punched in the face.

He left the pub and as he was walking along Bridge Road he was hit on the head from behind and knocked to the ground. Egan punched and kicked the victim in the face, causing multiple fractures to his face, then fled.

He admitted grievous bodily harm.
