A Chelsea entrepreneur who lives in Pimlico is beating the housing slump by making her television debut on a property programme.

Jo Eccles, who lives behind Vincent Square, started her Fulham Road based company Property Search in 2006 to help buyers find the house of their dreams but she was soon singled out by the producers of ITV's Homes and Property six-part series.

"Each programme focuses on a different area, and each week they talk to different experts about things like architecture and gardens. I'm the area expert," explained the businesswoman, who has previously lived in Chelsea and Bayswater.

Miss Eccles, who worked as a trader for two different banks before starting her own business, also gave producers behind-the-scenes advice on which areas to focus on, provide market information and resident profiles.

"We search for the property on their behalf. Some people don't have a clue what they are looking for or where. We visit them at home and search across all estate agents for what they're looking for," Miss Eccles said.

Since she moved to Pimlico seven years ago the businesswoman has seen a lot of changes in the area.

"The high street area of Warwick Road has all been upgraded a lot. I think it's becoming a place in its own right and developing more of a scene," she said.
