A TRAINEE priest who plunged 20ft from a loft window has continued to astonish doctors with his recovery.

John Paul Lyttle, 28, who was smoking with friends at a house in Clifton Road, Isleworth, when he fell from the window, received severe head and back injuries that were considered life threatening.

Four weeks on, Mr Lyttle who is studying for the Catholic priesthood, is making miraculous progress and has amazed doctors at Charing Cross hospital with his recovery.

"He is sat up in bed and talking and can move his arms, which is good news," said Detective Inspector Alan Holford of Hounslow Police.
"Although the prognosis two-and-a-half weeks ago was bleak, he is now on course for a good recovery."
