A pregnant woman has plunged to her death from the third floor of a block flats, police have said.

The 30-year-old was pronounced dead at around 3.20am on Sunday morning (Feb 23).

Police believe she may have fallen from the third floor of Orpheus House, in Harrow Road, West Kilburn which overlooks the Grand Union Canal.

However, officers from the Homicide and Serious Crime Command are investigating and treating the death as suspicious.

Next of kin have been informed but formal identification has not yet taken place. A post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

Detective Inspector Colette Smyth said: “Even in the early hours of Sunday, Harrow Road was busy with traffic and people walking around. I am specifically appealing to any witnesses who may have seen the woman fall from Orpheus House or anyone who was area just after 3am and witnessed this tragic incident to contact the police.”

A man was arrested at the scene in connection with the investigation and was subsequently bailed to return to police on April 23.
