Rugby fans had morph-fun than ever attempting to set a new world record at the Marriott London Sevens in Twickenham at the weekend.

Crowds stormed Twickenham stadium over two days creating a carnival atmosphere at the popular fancy dress event where hundreds of people in the stands were spotted sporting superhero Power Rangers costumes.

In a bid to make history, 393 people set a new world record (agreed in principle) for the largest gathering of people dressed in Power Ranger Morphsuits, thanks to inventors MorphCostumes.

One participant said: "I grew up watching Power Rangers on TV so when I heard that MorphCostumes were attempting a Power Ranger World Record at the 7s I just had to be involved!

"The stands felt like they were bursting with Power Rangers, it was awesome."

USA beat England in the semi-final and triumphed in the final smashing Australia 45-22 at the Marriott London Sevens to lift their first-ever cup title, while Fiji won the overall HSBC Sevens World Series.
