A HARVEST festival was held to collect food and goods for the vulnerable.

Pinner Association of Churches organised the two day event last weekend at Pinner Free Church, Paines Lane, which started with a family fun day on Saturday afternoon, with games such as making people out of vegetables, finger painting and pass-the-parcel.

This was followed by an international supper for the 70 people that attended, with dishes made by members of the congregation from Malaysia, Antigua, the US and Romania.

On Sunday, there was a Harvest Festival Service and the congregation donated tinned food for Welldon Centre Lunches at Harrow Baptist Church, College Road, which helps vulnerable people in the community.

Children made shoe boxes filled with goodies for the charity, Smile International, which will be sent to children in Kosovo and Uganda.

Chairwoman of Pinner Association of Churches, Joyce Eavis, said: “Having the Harvest Festival encourages people to look at others who are more vulnerable.

“It was a lovely weekend, everyone who attended the festival had a good time. The children loved getting messy with all the fun and games that went on.”
