AN ARTIST’S portrait of Kate Middleton has landed her a spot at an arts fair.

Amina Ansari of Queen’s Walk, South Ruislip, exhibited her portrait of the Duchess of Cambridge at the Affordable Arts Fair on Hampstead Heath.

Last year she painted portraits of The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee. Her work was presented in the Houses of Parliament and put on display at Windsor Castle.

This year she decided to take inspiration from the heavily criticised Paul Emsley portrait of the Duchess on display at the National Portrait Gallery.

Miss Ansari said she felt an urge to paint her version of the Duchess. “I have always had an interest in painting the Royal Family,” she said. “I had a very strong feeling that this portrait would make Kate very happy.”
