Police are hunting two thieves who are believed to have used explosives to blow a cash machine from a supermarket wall in Isleworth.

Officers were called to the Co Op store in South Street last Friday (November 14) at about 3am to reports of an explosion.

A police spokesman said two men were seen breaking into the store before driving off in a silver car towards Twickenham Road. There is no description of any suspect.

No one has been arrested in connection with the break-in, which is being investigated by officers from the Flying Squad.

Police said it was not yet known whether explosives were used, despite the damage caused and the amount of debris sent flying onto the street outside. They also said they could not confirm at this stage if any money had been taken.

Anyone with information can call the non-emergency police number 101.
